Welcome to Wildwood Alpacas, a friendly and dedicated alpaca herd based in the United Kingdom. At Wildwood Alpacas we are passionate about breeding high quality Huacaya alpacas with excellent temperaments, attractive colour genetics and bright, usable fleece. Our herd places a particular focus on greys and Appaloosa alpacas, which are highly sought after for both their unique appearance and their value within coloured breeding programmes.

Our aim is to produce alpacas that combine strong conformation, good fleece characteristics and calm, approachable personalities. We believe alpacas should be enjoyable to own as well as productive, which is why we place great importance on handling our animals from an early age. Many of our alpacas are halter trained and accustomed to routine herd management, making them easier to care for and ideal for both experienced breeders and first-time owners.

Wildwood Alpacas is committed to maintaining high standards of animal welfare and herd management. All of our alpacas are raised in a healthy herd environment with careful attention given to nutrition, health monitoring and regular husbandry routines. Our herd management programme includes vaccinations, scheduled worming, routine foot trimming and annual shearing, ensuring that every animal offered for sale is healthy and well cared for.

Fleece quality is an important part of our breeding programme. Our Huacaya alpacas produce bright, dense fleece with good staple length and a soft handle. We aim for consistent crimp structure and good fleece coverage across the blanket, neck and legs. The combination of strong fibre characteristics and distinctive colour patterns makes our alpacas suitable not only for breeding programmes but also for fibre enthusiasts and spinners who appreciate natural coloured alpaca fleece.

Throughout the year we often have a range of alpacas available for sale, including halter-trained weanlings, friendly pet males, young breeding females and pregnant females with proven maternal lines. We also occasionally offer young stud prospects with promising colour genetics and fleece qualities. Our alpacas are suitable for a variety of buyers, from smallholders looking for companion animals to experienced breeders seeking to add colour genetics to their herds.

We particularly enjoy helping new alpaca owners get started. Purchasing alpacas should be the beginning of a positive and long-term experience, so we are always happy to provide guidance and ongoing support. We can offer advice on alpaca care, herd management, feeding, fencing and general husbandry to help new owners feel confident in caring for their animals.
