Among the rolling hills of prairie grassland in Northern Colorado, you’ll find the home of the finest alpacas in the country. Red Granite Ranch has been breeding and selling elite seed stock alpacas in Northern Colorado since 2009. With over 10 years of trusted experience in the alpaca breeding industry. Here at Red Granite Ranch, our mission is to build an elite herd of alpacas with every breeding decision we make. Since opening in 2009, this pursuit has allowed us to create an award-winning ranch with animals proven to be competitive in the show ring. Our fleeces are dense, fine, and uniform, so you can trust that our fleece products are the best in the business.
From the very beginning, we began making purchases and breeding decisions that would allow us to build a herd of elite alpacas. We wanted Alpacas that would pass on to their offspring good health, superior conformation, lasting fineness, density, and uniformity in their fleece. We are preparing our herd not only to be competitive in the show ring but profitable in the developing fiber market.
Our goal is excellence and herd advancement with every breeding decision we make. We have been awarded the 2010 Futurity Small Breeder of the Year, 2012 Futurity Reserve Medium Breeder of the Year, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2022 Futurity Reserve Large Breeder of the Year, 2020 James G. King Industry Recognition Award, and the 2021 Futurity Large Breeder of the Year. Our Herdsires have won equally impressive awards: 2016 Futurity Reserve Herdsire of the Year Dark-Colored Offspring, 2017 Reserve Herdsire of the Year Dark-Colored Offspring, 2016, 2017, & 2018 AOA National Dark Male Supreme Champion, 2021 Futurity Herdsire of the Year Dark-Colored Offspring, 2021 Futurity Herdsire of Year Large Breeder Division, 2021 Futurity Reserve Herdsire of the Year Light-Colored Offspring and 2022 Futurity Herdsire of the Year Dark-Colored Offspring.
We have spent countless hours making sure our herd is healthy and perfecting the huacaya breed. Our hard work has paid off through these awards, and we will continue to bring the best to the table.
