From Thistledown Alpacas in New Zealand.
Alaska won Supreme Champion Suri Fleece at the Royal Three Counties fleece show in 2022 at 5 years of age! His progeny are also doing very well in shows including Faraway Rocket Man who won Supreme at the following years Royal Three Counties Fleece Show. Rocket Man was also Champion White Male at the 2024 Dorset County Show (judge Nick Harrington-Smith) and Champion White Male at the Ellingham and Ringwood Show (judge Tim Hey). His daughter Faraway Matilda was Champion Brown Female at Dorset and his son Faraway Alvarez was Champion Light Male. Alvarez also won Champion Light Fleece at the 2024 Royal Three Counties Fleece Show.
Thistledown Alaska is an outstanding male with a BLACK dam.
Alaska has inherited his lustrous and fine fleece from
his sire Surilana Consulate.
Surilana Consulate had a successful show career
in Australia prior to being exported to New Zealand.
He was selected by Thistledown for his exquisite handling fleece and uniformity of micron. He has a real lack of primary fibres, even in his brisket, which is a highly inheritable trait. He also has beautiful
lustre and a solid frame. Consulate’s sire Madolo comes from an extremely fine and uniform dam (Gold Coast Madona) who has held her micron, uniformly even, into her very old age. The sire of
Madolo is Piccolo (full accoyo, dam Macusani Ma Belle and sire Icalon) known for his extreme density.
Thistledown Idaho is Alaska’s dam. She is a
stunning blue black female with a fine fleece with
exceptional lustre and great density. She is a multi champion in colour, age group, breed and fleece and
one of Thistledown’s best black suri females.
Thistledown Alaska was only used in-house in 2020 and 2021 and now has exceptional cria on the ground.
