Description:
We have 3 lovely walking/pet boys for sale. We are ready to bring our own home born males into our walking team, so it's with some sadness that we're selling some of our most popular walking boys.

Jack and Duke are in tact but listed as non breeding. Crusoe's birth has been notified but he's not yet a registered stud. Halter trained and well-walked and handled. Up to date with all husbandry and vitamin drenches.

Crusoe (Hideaway Crusoe) is a gentle 2 year old modern grey. Fully halter trained, he's been part of our walking team since he was 18 months old and he walks steadily and calmly.

He's fairly shy and likes to be at the back on a walk. Easy to handle for husbandry tasks.

Jack (Toft Jumpin Jack) has beautiful conformation and is a strong and confident male. Dark fawn/white. 5 years old.

Duke (Willoughby Iron Duke) has a sensitive yet calm nature and walks well. Black with Inca heritage (sire). 5 years old.

At Hideaway Wood Farm our focus is on breeding and caring for healthy, happy alpacas in a natural and respectful way.

We have a herd of 35 alpacas, many of which were born here on the farm and we know each of our animals individually.

In terms of breeding, our focus is not on breeding for particularly desirable traits as we know the trends are always changing and that some traits can end up not being the best for the health of our alpacas. Instead we breed our animals with a focus on them being healthy, behaviourally well natured and with good conformation that will support their health and longevity.

In terms of handling, we have been moving in the direction of CameliDynamics handling and training for our whole herd.

And in terms of husbandry we are always seeking to incorporate more natural ways of taking care of our alpacas, removing unnecessary chemicals and supporting them through natural treatments and remedies wherever possible.

Whether you are completely new to alpacas, looking to build your existing herd, seeking an animal for a specific purpose or simply curious and wanting to come and have a look to see if alpacas are for you, we're happy to give you time, answer your questions and support you in the process.

We know all of our animals individually and can advise in terms of temperaments, breeding, pedigree and history. Our whole herd is BAS registered and we can provide a full medical record.

But more than all of that, we love our animals and love to meet alpaca people.

Please note, alpacas are herd animals and need to live in groups of at least three. We are happy to advise on and support with alpaca keeping and provide ongoing support as part of the sales process.
