Capon Bridge, West Virginia | | About this breeder: | BGF offers 24/7 customer service. We understand that there will be “odd” questions at odd hours! We both have extensive customer service backgrounds and understand the importance it plays whether you are a newcomer to the business or a veteran breeder with a unique circumstance. Having had the benefit of dealing with numerous pioneers in the U.S. alpaca industry, and realizing that their huge success is directly related to their outstanding customer service, we are committed to building on their examples to ensure our farms’ success by passing on their tradition of exemplar customer service to everyone we come in contact with. We are always available to share our experiences of how we handle specific situations in the care of our alpacas with anyone who contacts us, however, this information is our experience only and is not intended as a replacement for veterinary advice & care.
Terrie’s background in nursing and Greg’s extensive background in design and building enable us to assist in all aspects of alpaca care from barn design to medical issues. We are committed to help new breeders get started on the right track by offering the Bear Garden “starter kit,” to any customer purchasing their first alpaca(s). The kit contains halter, lead rope, feed pail, 50# of grain (specialty blend of renowned camelid expert Norm Evans, distributed by Southern States Co-Op), bale of high quality orchard grass, a “bean” scoop & rake, nail clippers (and demonstration on how to use them), a health maintenance kit which includes needles, syringes & a bottle of Dectomax (per BGF protocol, given 1st weekend of each month for prevention of Meningeal worm-check with your local vet for recommendations in your area). Terrie will provide instruction on how our farm administers basic vaccines/shots as well as our vaccine schedule. Greg is available for recommendations on pasture &/or barn design. All animals are sold with up to date vaccines and a detailed medical history available on CD for farms using AlpacaEase/HerdEase software or a printed version for others. We also offer free delivery within 200 miles of our farm. All animals purchased from us receive free boarding for 60 days and reasonable agisting fees apply after 60 days.

Indianapolis, IN | | About this breeder: | We started our exciting alpaca journey in 2003 and have found our ideal lifestyle! We have been agisting our alpacas until we are able to get our own ranch, which we hope will be in 2008/09. It will be a day of celebration! We have learned a lot along the way and have made some wonderful friendships along the way.
We both have a love for animals, and our farm is named after our beloved dog, whose nickname was "The Rose." She lived to be almost 15 and was a huge part of our lives. She is still greatly missed, but her memory lives on with our alpaca ranch.
It certainly has helped to be on the "agisting" side for a while to know how we want to structure our services, and what is important to the customer. We are very passionate about alpacas and our breeding program is structured to ensure the health of the breed for longevity and we firmly believe that includes breeding animals of diverse bloodlines to include Peruvian, Chilean and Bolivian. Our emphasis is on breeding for fineness and elite fleece quality which we feel is the future of the industry.
We believe in doing business with a high standard of excellence. Honesty, integrity and fair prices are of utmost importance to us. When you do business with our farm, you can expect nothing less. We would love to assist any new breeders coming into the alpaca industry and would be happy to talk with anyone who is interested in learning about how to get started in alpacas with agisting. It is a great way to get started if you don't have the property, or can financially only afford to purchase one alpaca, or you just want to invest in alpacas without having the hassles of having your own ranch.
We welcome any inquiries, and if interested in any of our alpacas, we have fleece samples on all of them, and pictures on most, so feel free to contact us anytime. It's so fun to share everything we know about these wonderful animals, and we only wish we found this business sooner, but are sinerely thankful that we found it at all! |

V9L 6K3 | | About this breeder: | Our company brokers for small breeders throughout Canada and in the U.S. We started our business in 1996 when we discovered that the vast majority of alpaca sales were off of large farms. We knew that the industry could not grow and prosper unless the small breeders could sell their stock. By bringing together lots of small farms we can offer great selection and pricing. Our business has now developed to the point that we have repeat clients and many new friends in Canada and the U.S. Full disclosure and total honesty are the cornerstone of our dealings. Our breeders love their alpacas and are always ready to help people just starting out in this industry. We also raise our own alpacas and board for clients.

We relocated to our permanent North Texas Hill Country home in 2005. Many hours have been expended making our hill top home and ranch Alpaca friendly and efficient with the addition of fencing, out buildings, pastures, and much more. We have a long way to go, but seeing the results of our efforts is part of the enjoyment of what we have done and will contunie to do.
Our herd continues to grow and improve upon the minimum standards we established for ourselves due to carefully selected acquisitions and breedings.

Additionally we provide business support services including business entity creation, business plan preparation, financial planning, marketing plan preparation, and more.
