24th February 2009 - Recognising the need to introduce Quality Genetics into the herd at a time of economic uncertainty is bound to be a financial challenge for us all however, we at Easter-Wood Alpacas are keen to promote our HerdSire, Ice Cool Lad as an affordable option for this coming Spring/Summer. His progeny are "outstanding" and we will be attending the British Futurity Show on Friday 27th February to actively promote his Quality as a First Class Stud. We look forward to meeting many of you!

31st May 2009 - Our Herd Sire, Ice Cool Lad is now back on Easter-Wood Farm and is busy "servicing" some of our girls. Marmite was first up and as an experienced "Mum", she had a very good mating. He is of course now available for matings and with his fantastic progeny reputation, we expect him to be a popular choice.

10th June 2009 - Cambridge Ice Cool Lad had a couple of matings today. First was with Cammal Blackie which went fairly well and later that afternoon, we put him to another of our girls, Snowflake who was so relaxed about the event that it was difficult to get her up after 35 minutes! We expect ICL to introduce quality genetics for these girls.

14th June 2009 - Rob Rawlins from Wellground Alpaca Stud paid us a visit today with "Samson" whom we put to one of our Elite girls, "Sunrise". Since it was very hot today and Sunrise's fleece is not due to be sheared until Wednesday of this week, we are not sure that she was too comfortable being mated! Never mind, Rob will be back to re-mate if the Spit-Off proves she has not been receptive!

19th June 2009 - Yet another of our Elite crias was born today. A female (first one this year) with Cambridge Neptune being her Sire. She is very strong and was on her feet within minutes! This is unusual for us as it was the first cria to be born at Easter-Wood without any birthing complications! We think that she is an absolute stunner and now has her brother, Navigator (born last month), Polaris and Sundown to play with. Pictures will soon be on our web site.

21st June 2009 - Hectic day today! All Alpacas were vaccinated with Lambivac, conducted spit-off with 5 of our girls and gave Cambridge Ice Cool Lad a mating with "Black Magic". We greatly appreciated the help of our new found friends from Liecester, Karl & Lisa who are very enthusiastic about building their own Alpaca Breeding enterprise themselves. As Rob & Lesley Rawlins at Wellground had previously introduced them to us, we are all very keen that both Karl & Lisa are successful.
