| Last Updated: 7th of April 2010 7th April 2010 Yesterday saw the arrival of our third cria of the year born exactly at 11 1/2 months which does not happen very often a very big cria at 9.4 kg with very long legs from a young maiden poor girl but with some help he was delivered fine and up and feeding very quickly, he has been out sunbathing today and running around playing trying to get to grips with his long legs, its great to have cria running around the paddocks enjoying the sunshine. Tonight they are all tucked up nice and warm in the barn hoping for another sunny day tomorrow. 4th March Yesterday we had our second arrival for this year from our female who had not had a cria for a few years, but thankfully she has produced a lovely cria and she is very proud of him to, she is still the perfect mother he is doing very well, pictures will be on our cria page soon. Miss Valentine (aka Missy) is also doing really well she is really pleased to have a new friend to play with. With mating commencing and the good weather it is really feeling like spring. 15th February 2010 The first entry for the year we are very excited that we have our first cria of the year a female she is beautiful and is running around the paddock with her mum following along behind, as they do it is great to have a little one on the farm its what all the hard work is for, she will get all the spring and summer to grow and get big and strong. We are now waiting for the second cria to be born due this week by Crusader this will be his first cria so its all exciting here. Looking forward to the rest of the year. 29th August We seem to have had a busy month with the alpacas and having the children on their summer holidays, we attend a couple of more show at the beginning of August with excellent results. We went to the North Devon Show and came home with 3 First 2 Second 2 Third with our Dreamfield Midnight Star taking Reserve Champion Black and our Brown male Dreamfield Maximus taking Champion Brown again this little chap is really special, these were in the halter classes and in the fleece classes we had 12 fleeces entered and 10 of those bought home rosettes and Mximus again won his class. The next day we attend the Honiton show where i was able to introduce alpacas for the first time last year this year we had 95 alpacas forward which was great everybody had a great day never mind the weather, which on the whole was good. We entered the same show team of just 7 alpacas and came home with 3 First 4 Second and 1 Fifth we have been so pleased with our show result this year as we only have a small number of alpacas to choose from each year but we seem to be able to do very well indeed to get into the rosette line up is a great achievement with the standard of alpacas coming forward in to the show ring being so high. So we look forward to seeing more of you at the Honiton Show next year where we have wether and multi classes as well as the normal as we would like to encourage everybody to bring their alpacas to the show. 5th July Well over the last few days we have been really busy we have had three more births and 3 girls, at last some female cria another stunning Kossack cria and solid fawn this time, he really is producing some fantastic babies and we look forward to the show season next year.
