| Last Updated: 5th of August 2010 August 1-3rd.2010 Hamilton Sheepvention is a great place to go as there is so much to see and do as well as show alpacas. AMBLESIDE ANDEAN SILKWOOD was awarded Champion junior and then he took out SUPREME Suri which was very exciting. Micolitta was awarded first and reserve Champion junior and Aztec was First and Champion Adult male. Our Hucauya Chantilly was pulled out into the front line which was very pleasing as she was in short fleece and a very strong line up. All in all a very successful show. July 25th 2010 Ballarat Show was an enjoyable show. It was not sooooooooo cold though we did get a downpour in the afternoon with hail!!!! Our Accoyo Aztec was awarded first and Champion Adult male which was very pleasing. The judge and suri breeder from NSW[ Wendy Billington] examined Aztec thoroughly and said he was a very good male.. Great bone and lustre, a consistent flat lock style and micron that was very uniform SEE photo in Gallery Section. Ambleside Micholitta is being consistent being placed First and Reseve Champion. Great lustre and uniformity of lock but a little small. And Ambleside Andean Silkwood was placed second. Accoyo Aztec under went his certification test with Denis Ryan last Friday. Aztec passed with flying colours and will start stud duties this Spring June 25th 2010 Western Region Agfest: 340 animals were entered and 117 fleeces. The two judges Ron Reid[ WA and Kate Manders {New Zealand] were very complimentary re Micholitta and Aztec. Regarding Aztec Kate said he had excellent bone, lustre very evident and uniform locking that was returning very well. Aztec had 9 months regrowth and was placed 3rd in Adult male section behind 2 animlas in full fleece. Micholitta was Reserve Champion Junior Suri female and Silkwood was awarded second in the junior male category June 15th 2010-- News from a satisfied sheep stud client Sue P. emailed me this recently re her herd quards " I gladly recommend alpaca quards... The boys have been sensational, with not one lamb lost and every ewe who is not a maiden having twins. They[the boys] seem to be with the ewe with the youngest lambs at all times and are very watchful. The shooters went through the creek area last week and shoot 7 foxes so they certainly are about. I am looking at at least 150% lambs and am confident they will all make it to weaning..... Sue runs a Dorper Stud near Camperdown Western Victoria May 25th 2010. Ambleside Alpacas attended the First Glemormiston Show in the Western District of Victoria------ in the heart of fine wool farms----- Aztec continued his winning streak with being awarded fisrt and Champion Adult male white Suri. This is his third Championship from 3 shows. In the junior white Suris Ambleside Micholitta was awarder First place and Reserve Championship and Ambleside Andean Silkwood was awarded a second behind the Supreme Pictures and full results will be going up on the Show page. Ambleside Saffire was awarded Supreme Hucauya from a very strong line of contenders. Congrats to her owners. Brief news to date: Our last drop of ET cria have all arrived successfully. Six females and two males so we were very pleased. NOTE: all cria were born between 7am and 1.15 pm. Very civilised!!!. All developing well and we are currently involved in another ET program which is including one of our top Hucauyas "In The Stars". Our team of 6 animals all received ribbons. "BANDICOOT GUARDS"-------- DONATION to the NATION TRUST PROPERTY-- MOORAMONG-- SKIPTON VIC. In May Ambleside Alpacas donated 2 white Huacaya alpacas to the National trust property Mooramong ,Skipton in the Western District of Victoria. Rascals and Penultimate have the job of helping to keep the foxes away from the Bandicoot population. Both boys had been herd guards the year before with Ambleside ewes. ADELAIDE ROYAL SHOW September 2007 Results; GRAND CHAMPION SURI AMBLESIDE MAESTRO Two other progeny of Ambleside Magestic won prizes Ambleside Silk Bobbins First Intermediate white/fawn Ambleside Ambition Fleece 2nd with score 87/100 Adelaide was a great show. It was well run and every one was friendly and helpful. Thank you AAA National 2007 Unfortunately Ambleside withdrew from the National because of a family concern.
